About Sharon Tabor
My work tends to focus on anything Montana. I strive for realism, a certain rhythm, and a touch of innovation in each painting. I love color, which to me, is intrinsic to the soul. You can see that aspect in most of my paintings! My passion to paint began as a young child, inspired by my father, an artist for most of his 94 years. As a teen-ager I had a sign painting business, sold paintings, sketches, crafts and painted western pictures on the windows of local stores for the Sanders County Fair and rodeos. Along the way I have taken numerous art classes in watercolor, oils and drawing. In 2003 I became a certified Forensic Composite Artist for law enforcement. The painting "Sunlit Aspens - Davis Creek Montana" was accepted into the Art on the Green Juried Art Show, Coeur d'Alene, ID in 2015 and "Montana Sheep Wagon" in 2013. My illustrations can be found in the book “The Confident Butterfly” by Angela Dawnell Chase of Phoenix, AZ. I was raised in Plains, Montana and moved throughout the Pacific Northwest, although Montana was always my rock. Since moving to Billings I have discovered lots of rocks, as well as the astounding landscape of Nye and the Stillwater River. In addition to being an artist, I have worked many years in Facilities Management and Space Planning and in 2009 became certified in AutoCAD Architecture.
